Benihana Offers Double Points to Reward Club Members
MIAMI, Dec. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Benihana
(NASDAQ:BNHNNASDAQ:andNASDAQ:BNHNA) is pleased to announce that its recently
launched rewards program, the Emperor's Club, has registered over 50,000
members with aggregate sales exceeding $5 million since its system-wide launch
in August 2004. According to Kevin Aoki, Benihana Vice President of Marketing,
"As this program grows from a budding stage into a full-scale loyalty program,
you will see second-tier and third-tier marketing programs incorporated into
this plan." As part of the second phase of The Emperor's Club, a national email program
will be launched advising members of special reward opportunities. The first
offer shared with club members will be the rewarding of double points to every
customer who is a member of the Emperor's Club during specific quarterly
holiday periods. Those dates include: January 10 - January 23, 2005 New Year's Celebration
April 4 - April 17, 2005 Cherry Blossom Festival
July 4 - July 17, 2005 Independence Day Celebration
October 3 - October 16, 2005 Founder's Day Celebration Double points will be awarded at all participating Benihana locations in the
United States.
Benihana, now in its 40th year and one of the nation's largest chains of Asian
restaurants, currently operates 70 restaurants, including 57 Benihana
teppanyaki restaurants, five Haru sushi restaurants, eight RA Sushi Bar
restaurants and one Doraku restaurant. Under development at present are five
restaurants -- two Benihana, two Haru and one RA Sushi. In addition, a total of
