TORONTO, June 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Committees comprising certain institutional holders of the 1976, 1996 and 1997 Bell Canada debentures today received the decision of the Supreme Court of Canada approving a plan of arrangement under which BCE is to be acquired by a consortium led by the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.
The Committees contested the plan on behalf of those who have entrusted money to its members to manage. While the Committees' members are disappointed that the court disagreed with them on the merits, they believe they had a duty to protect the interests of their clients in contesting the plan of arrangement.
