BRUSSELS--Belgium's rate of inflation rose slightly after falling for several months, the country's economy ministry said Wednesday.

In July, inflation increased to 0.34% from 0.27% the previous month, with the most marked increases coming from the price of air tickets due to the peak holiday season--the price of flights rose 28.1%. Fuel, vegetables and hotel rooms also got more expensive.

Energy prices, in contrast, plunged. Energy costs dropped 9.33% in July after falling 5.67% the previous month--reaching their lowest level since November 2009.

Excluding energy, July's inflation rate was 1.3%, the ministry added.
