LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Bateman Engineering NV said chief executive
Sivi Gounden has resigned and will be replaced by his deputy, Jonathan Edward Du
Rand.
Gounden, who will remain CEO until July 25, is leaving the company in order
to pursue other interests, it said. Du Rand's appointment will be subject to
shareholder approval at an EGM on July 25.
Du Rand joined Bateman in September 2007 as managing director of the
minerals and metals business unit, the group's largest division. He was promoted
to deputy CEO in March.
Alongside with the management changes, Bateman also announced that results
for the full year to June 2008 will be in accordance with the management's
expectations.
"The board believes that the group remains well positioned to take advantage
of the current positive market environment for its services and is confident in
the growth prospects for the group as it approaches a new financial year," it
said.
