NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Barrier Therapeutics Inc. Wednesday said its
drug Hivenly met the primary endpoint in a Phase II study.
The drug was designed to treat chronic idiopathic urticaria. The company
said that in the study, Hivenly "significantly" reduced itch symptoms in
patients when compared to the placebo.
Barrier said it would be evaluating options to accelerate the drug's
development.
Shares of the Princeton, N.J.-based pharmaceutical company closed Tuesday at
$3.36. The stock is down 52% over the past 52 weeks.
