Baptist Health Care Corporation in Pensacola, Fla., selected Allscripts (Nasdaq:MDRX) Sunrise™ electronic health record (EHR) solution to improve the quality and safety of patient care and better manage business operations. The solution provides a single, comprehensive health care record for every patient that is accessible by clinicians at any point of care, including hospitals, ambulatory sites, physician practices and other trading partners. Non-clinical departments also access the EHR for accurate billing and financial reporting.

Baptist Health Care Corporation serves communities in northwest Florida and southern Alabama with three hospitals, including a 492 bed tertiary care facility, two medical parks and associated physician practices. In addition to Sunrise™ Acute Care, the organization is implementing a comprehensive Allscripts solution, including:

  • Sunrise Revenue Cycle Management™ for accurate billing and financial reporting,
  • Allscripts EPSi™ to accurately forecast and track financial risk,
  • FollowMyHealth® patient engagement portal, and
  • Allscripts dbMotion™ population health management platform to more easily connect with all providers that care for patients, even if they are not part of the organization's system.

Baptist Health Care Corporation will use the Allscripts Managed Technology Deployment Model for implementation, on-going 24x7 Clinical Service Desk support to help the organization stay focused on patient care and operational strategies.

"Baptist Health Care Corporation chose the Allscripts solution because it closely aligns with our goals to continuously improve our organizational performance, both for the care we provide to our communities and how we manage our operations," said Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Baptist Health Care Corporation, Steven Sarros. "Allscripts Sunrise provides the tools we need to streamline processes and deliver accurate, up-to-date health record to all clinicians at the point of care."
