HARTFORD, Conn., May 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Bank of America Chief Marketing Officer and Northeast President Anne M. Finucane today announced that Connecticut President Susan A. Rottner will retire after a 35-year career with the company. Kevin J. Cunningham has been named Connecticut state president, following Rottner's retirement. Cunningham will continue to serve as Northeast region executive responsible for commercial lending and treasury services.

Over the course of her career, Rottner worked closely with many nonprofit organizations in the state. She served as co-chair of the Mayor's Commission to End Chronic Homelessness and on the boards of directors of the Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, the Wadsworth Atheneum, the Greater Hartford YMCA and several other organizations. Her retirement from the company will be effective on May 16.

In his new role, Cunningham will provide business, civic and philanthropic leadership for Bank of America in Connecticut. Throughout the state, he will focus on strong communication and integration among the company's local business lines, enhancements to the customer experience, revenue growth and efforts to strengthen Bank of America's presence in the community.

During his 24-year career with Bank of America, Cunningham has held a number of leadership positions within the company leading up to his present role. In his current position, Cunningham is responsible for the integrated delivery of commercial lending and treasury services for Middle Market and Business Banking clients throughout the Northeast within the manufacturing, distribution, service, retail and technology industries.
Cunningham also participates in nonprofit and industry organizations in Connecticut. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Connecticut Business and Industry Association. He previously served as a member of the Board of Community Renewal Team and also as the company's fundraising chairperson for the United Way and Hartford Arts Council campaigns. Cunningham has also played an active role coaching in the Simsbury girls travel basketball program.
Cunningham was raised in Milford, Connecticut, and received an MBA from the University of Connecticut and a BS from Southern Connecticut State University. He currently resides in Simsbury with his wife, Cheryl, and three children Caitlin, Meghan, and David.
