LONDON-- The U.K. communications regulator Ofcom fined Plusnet,
a broadband and landline services provider owned by
telecommunications company BT Group PLC (BT.A.LN) 880,000 pounds
($1.1 million) for overcharging customers.
Ofcom said Plusnet continued charging some customers after they
cancelled their services, resulting in them being overcharged by a
total of more than GBP500,000.
The penalty includes a 20% reduction to reflect Plusnet's
willingness to enter into a formal settlement, Ofcom said.
