SINGAPORE -(Dow Jones)- BP PLC (BP) plans to gradually restart an ultracracker unit at its Texas City, Texas refinery beginning later Thursday, according to a report filed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
The ultracracker, a unit used for blending gasoline, was shut on Sept. 4 for maintenance.
The Texas City refinery has the capacity to process 455,790 barrels of crude oil a day, making it the third largest refinery in the U.S.
