German car maker BMW AG (BMW.XE) Tuesday said July global car
sales rose 5% on the year primarily due to strong demand in
China.
MAIN FACTS:
-BMW group July global sales increased to 135,537 cars.
-BMW July group sales in China increased 22.5% on the year to
23,092 cars, while group U.S. sales rose 4.0%.
-In Europe, BMW group sales declined 2.4% to 60,855 cars during
the month.
-BMW brand July global sales jumped 4.2% on the year to 113,253
cars.
-Group January-July global sales rose 7.6% to 1,036,088.
-The company sees positive sales growth throughout the second
half of the year, BMW sales chief Ian Robertson said.
