MUNICH--BMW AG Chief Executive Harald Krueger expects the company's weak sales performance in the U.S. to continue until the summer months.

"We expect that the U.S. trend will continue until the summer," Mr. Krueger told reporters on a conference call.

In the first three months of the year, BMW sales in the U.S. fell 11% from the same period the previous year.

Mr. Kruger said the company is now examining its product offering and pipeline in the U.S.
