Company celebrates the team’s success and wishes the Ravens luck as they advance in the playoffs

Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) is helping the Baltimore Ravens paint the town purple for the playoffs by illuminating its downtown Baltimore City headquarters building with purple lights throughout the Ravens playoff run. The Ravens are painting the town purple, literally, in celebration of reaching the NFL postseason for the sixth time in the past seven years.

BGE illuminated its headquarters building with a ring of purple lights on Wednesday, Dec. 31, prior to the Ravens first playoff victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The lights create an illusion of a purple ring encircling the building and BGE will keep the lights up as long as the Ravens continue to advance in the playoffs.

“Just as BGE has long been a part of the fabric of Baltimore, so are the Ravens,” said Calvin G. Butler Jr., chief executive officer for BGE. “BGE will be cheering on the Ravens as they travel to Foxborough, Massachusetts to battle the New England Patriots on Saturday. We are proud to support our hometown team in this very visible way.”

As customers across central Maryland show their Ravens pride by joining the team in painting the town and their hometowns purple for the playoffs, BGE reminds customers to consider the BGE Smart Energy Savers Program®, which provides rebates and incentives for energy efficient lighting solutions in homes and businesses.
