LONDON (Thomson Financial) - BATM Advanced Communications Ltd, a designer
and producer of broadband data and telecoms systems, said it has received its
first orders to provide carrier ethernet access platforms for a major 4G project
in the US.
The contract is worth "several hundreds of thousands of dollars" initially,
the company said, adding it expects the orders to "grow significantly" as the
project -- the first of its kind in the US -- evolves.
"4G is clearly the next step in the evolution of the telecoms industry. We
believe that this is the first project of its kind, anywhere in the world, and
our involvement is further evidence of the quality of our technology," said
chief executive Zvi Marom.
