LONDON--BAE SYSTEMS PLC (BA.LN) said on Friday that Chief Operating Officer Charles Woodburn has bought 26,498 shares in the company at 5.36 pounds ($7.09) a share, a 0.4% discount to Thursday's closing price of GBP5.38.

Shares at 1125 GMT down 11 pence, or 2.1%, at 526.50 pence valuing the company at GBP16.71 billion.
