Avnet recognized for its innovative sales management system that enhanced its customer service and data analytics capabilities

Global technology distributor Avnet, Inc. (NYSE:AVT) was recently honored on the 2015 CIO 100 Asia, which was published by CIO Asia magazine. Since 2001, the CIO 100 Asia has recognized the top 100 organizations across the region that have demonstrated the vision, genius and courage to use IT to further business goals. The organizations selected for this list have arrived at a new age of strategic deployment, one where the measure of success is the ability to innovatively create or transform markets using technology.

Avnet was named to the list for its implementation of an advanced sales management system for its Avnet Technology Solutions business in Asia Pacific, which operates in Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

“The sales management system transformed our business in the Asia Pacific market by providing us with a deep level of visibility throughout the entire sales lifecycle from quoting to ordering,” said William Chu, president of Avnet Technology Solutions, Asia Pacific. “With this increased visibility and access to data analytics, we have been able to improve customer satisfaction, increase productivity and enhance our planning capabilities. The recognition from CIO Asia reflects the dedication of both our business and IT teams in ensuring that Avnet is continually providing innovative resources that create outstanding experiences for our customers and accelerate their success.”

The sales management system features advanced data analytics capabilities. These focus on key areas of Avnet Technology Solutions’ business, including customer relationship management, sales and quotation management. Avnet Technology Solutions’ business leaders are able to access the analyzed data via a dashboard, which provides them with the visibility and insight they need to steer the business and drive results.

“We developed the new system to revolutionize our approach to sales management, and it is now the largest standardized regional system in the history of Avnet Technology Solutions in Asia Pacific,” said Max Chan, vice president of IT supporting Avnet Technology Solutions, Asia Pacific. “The business and IT teams worked in partnership to develop a system and automate sales processes that help us more effectively serve our customers and position them for long-term success. The system is a great example of how advanced data analytics and cutting-edge technology, such as in-memory computing, can be used to create a business advantage and unprecedented business insights.”
