Avis Car Rental today announced the launch of its application for the Apple Watch. The new Avis app enables customers to email themselves a car rental receipt and view current, upcoming and past car rental reservations right from their wrists. The initiative makes Avis the first U.S. car rental company to offer an app for the Apple Watch.

The Apple Watch application builds upon the Company’s commitment to put the customer first by employing the latest technology to enhance the rental experience. Avis offers mobile applications for devices on the iOS and Android platforms as well as the BlackBerry operating systems and the Microsoft Windows Phone. In August, Avis became the first car rental company to offer an Android application that enables customers to make, confirm or cancel car rental reservations via voice.
