The Australian dollar weakened against the other major currencies in the Asian session on Thursday.

The Australian dollar fell to 84.29 against the yen and 1.6023 against the euro, from early 2-day highs of 85.13 and 1.5883, respectively. At yesterday's close, the aussie was trading at 84.68 against the yen and 1.5946 against the euro.

Against the U.S. and the Canadian dollars, the aussie dropped to 0.7002 and 0.9294 from early 2-day highs of 0.7061 and 0.9365, respectively. The aussie closed yesterday's deals at 0.7037 against the greenback and 0.9336 against the loonie.

The aussie edged down to 1.1014 against the NZ dollar, from an early high of 1.1089. At yesterday's close, the aussie was trading at 1.1074 against the kiwi.

If the aussie extends its downtrend, it is likely to find support around 81.00 against the yen, 1.66 against the euro, 0.69 against the greenback, 0.92 against the loonie, 1.08 against the kiwi.
