Appointment of Chief Financial Officer
Audioboom (AIM: BOOM), the leading spoken-word audio on-demand
mobile platform, announces the appointment of David McDonagh as
Chief Financial Officer with effect from 18 May 2015.
Chartered accountant (FCA) David, who joins the Company from
WideOrbit, a leader in premium broadcast technology and the largest
sell-side processor of premium advertising in the world, covering a
broad assortment of media, will report to CEO Rob Proctor for
strategic financial planning, reporting and management of
Audiboom's high growth strategy. Initially, he will not join the
board of the Company, however he will play an important role in the
board process.
Previously Mr McDonagh was Head of Finance for Apple iTunes
S.a.r.l where he had operational as well as financial
responsibilities and managed the marketing and royalty budgets for
the iTunes Festival. Before that, he worked for 6 years at Apple
including roles in Sales Operations, managing the iPod category.
Subsequently, he was promoted to be responsible for Route to Market
for Retail and iPhone. Whilst in this role he was involved in the
successful EMEIA launch of the iPhone in 2007. He was headhunted in
2009 from Apple to be the EMEA Finance Director for Palm Inc,
subsequently Hewlett Packard, to launch Palm in Europe. Earlier in
his career he successfully delivered a robust financial platform to
support the trade sale of iobox, a mobile internet start-up, to
Telefonica for EUR230million, before promotion to Director of UK
Finance where he took the commercial lead for developing the online
and mobile business model.
