Atrua Technologies, Inc. (www.atrua.com),
a leading provider of touch control solutions for mobile devices,
including its made-for-mobile fingerprint touch control, issued a
statement today refuting the allegations made in competitor Authentec,
Inc.’s (NASDAQ: AUTH) lawsuit asserting that
Atrua infringed its intellectual property.
“Everything we do in business is done with the
utmost in honor and ethics, including our approach to intellectual
property,” stated Anthony Gioeli, CEO of
Atrua. “We certainly did not copy Authentec.
We have researched and developed our own technology and have our own
portfolio of patented intellectual property, which has been recognized
as unique in the industry. In fact, the customer response to our
offering validates that our solutions are exceptionally suited for the
requirements of the mobile market. We have carefully reviewed the three
patents alleged to have been infringed and we are quite confident that
our novel products do not infringe. There is no merit to this lawsuit
against Atrua, and we are unsure why Atrua has been targeted.”
With over 80% share of new fingerprint phone models launched in 2007,
Atrua captured the momentum in the surging market for mobile phone
fingerprint sensors. Atrua’s team comprises
industry pioneers and some of the world’s
foremost recognized experts in fingerprint technology. Fingerprint touch
controls from Atrua utilize the company’s
innovative new technology to deliver solutions that bring greater levels
of security and convenience to mobile device users. Atrua’s
solutions continue to gain momentum in the marketplace with seven phones
announced already in 2008 and recent phone launches from brands such as
Toshiba, Sagem/Porsche Design, and Ningbo Bird, China’s
largest mobile phone maker.
