AstraZeneca says submits application in US and EU for saxagliptin-based Onglyza

LONDON (Thomson Financial) - AstraZeneca Plc has announced along with
partner Bristol-Myers Squibb Company that it has submitted a New Drug
Application in the US and a Marketing Authorisation Application in the EU for
its diabetes drug Onglyza, based on saxagliptin.
The submission is significant for the company as Onglyza is seen as one of
its potential new blockbusters.
The submission is slightly behind schedule as the Anglo/Swedish company has
said that it would file by the middle of this year.
