Artilium plc
("Artilium" or the "Company")
Artilium plc (LSE/AIM: ARTA), the AIM quoted provider of
innovative telecommunication software and solutions, announces that
it has entered into a strategic alliance with Green IT Globe NV
("Green IT Globe") to launch the OneApp platform in order to
capture the mobile data cloud market.
-- The OneApp platform will offer unlimited storage, identity
management, secure messaging, photo sharing and other cloud
communication services to operators and Mobile Virtual Network
Operators (MVNO's)
-- Artilium to offer virtual datacenter services (VDC) for B2B,
includes Infrastructure-as-a-Service (Iaas) and
Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS)
-- Specific offerings for Africa and Asia where consumption is
growing exponentially and need for mobile storage and cloud
services is rapidly increasing
Mobile communications and cloud services are converging and in
order to enable fast growing telecom customers in emerging markets
to capture this opportunity, Green IT Globe and Artilium have
launched OneApp, a mobile data cloud with limitless communication
possibilities integrated with local and secure data storage in the
operator network.
This enables mobile network operators to capture a piece of this
substantial market that is largely dominated by US-based cloud
providers. According to the Cisco Global Cloud Index (GCI),
consumers and businesses move more of their stored data to a
central repository that can provide ubiquitous access to content
and applications through any device from any location.
The market for mobile data cloud services will reach an
estimated 2 billion users by 2019, up from 1.1 billion users in
2014. The global storage requirements will grow from 14 exabyte
(EB) annually in 2014 to 39 EB by 2019 at a compound annual growth
rate of 23 per cent. This will drive significant new revenue
streams to our customers, operators and MVNO's.
Besides cloud storage, the OneApp proposition includes services
such as instant messaging, file sharing and synchronisation, secure
authentication, service catalogue development, content distribution
and virtual currency wallets. The functionalities of OneApp using
open source development frameworks are vast.
Artilium is lowering the cost of delivery for operators, whilst
subscribers are offered affordable data services, such as free data
storage plans, in which consumers can store all their smartphone
data within the operator network.
Bart Weijermars, Chief Executive Officer of Artilium said:
"The strategic partnership with Green IT Globe allows us to
offer a new suite of cloud-driven functionality and cloud storage
capacity at an unprecedented low price. This drives new freemium
and premium services for our customers. In addition, this
partnership opens up new markets where the combination of
Artilium's mobile enablement platform with the OneApp platform
creates a strong lever for further growth internationally."
"Affordable mobile services and functional apps are key for
mobile phone users in emerging markets. In Africa and Asia, where
telecom infrastructure is constantly expanding and mobile
subscribers are exponentially growing, we see a lot of interest in
our ready-to-market platform solution. We enable the telecom market
to offer mobile cloud and data services at such low prices that,
installed in their local networks, the digital divide should soon
become non-existent."
Weijermars added, "Our partnership has already delivered an
extensive suite of mobile data solutions for our existing
operators, and Green It Globe provides us with the flexibility to
define new value-added services and applications that can be
immediately deployed into the networks of our customers."
Artilium and Green IT Globe are already in discussions with
several potential customers for contracts of significant value.
