Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE:ARW) today announced it has added
Hitachi Cloud Service for Content Archiving, delivered by Hitachi
Data Systems (HDS), to Arrow’s cloud service portfolio and the
ArrowSphere cloud marketplace in the United States.
Arrow solution providers can now offer Hitachi Cloud Service for
Content Archiving to their customers and provide enhanced
distributed cloud storage services, managed and delivered by
HDS.
Hitachi cloud service enables storage strategies that extend
from the enterprise to the public cloud. This highly scalable and
secure offering provides a way to lower costs and simplify
management by out-tasking fast-growing and aging data assets.
Designed as an HDS hybrid content cloud, the service uses the same
proven and reliable HDS infrastructure products that support
private infrastructure cloud solutions for customers and cloud
service providers around the world.
“Hitachi Data Systems leadership in cloud-enabled content
management services helps address the lifecycle needs of the
distributed enterprise, and provides a compelling value proposition
for our partners and their customers,” said Dee Dee Lear, vice
president of cloud and business development for Arrow’s North
American enterprise computing solutions business. “The cloud
storage market continues to develop, and HDS allows us to
accelerate the growth of our solution providers and MSP partners by
addressing the growing demand from their business, government and
education customers for hybrid cloud storage and content
management. Additionally, this aligns with a core element of our
strategy to support our traditional OEM partners to deliver
on-premises, off-premises, and hybrid IT solutions.”
“We’re excited to be an important part of today’s announcement
which builds upon the significance of newly emerging cloud
aggregation models like the ArrowSphere program,” said Mark
Stratton, vice president, Cloud Services Engineering, Hitachi Data
Systems. “This joint effort enables us to provide cloud solutions
for more Arrow solution providers and their respective customers
with more efficiency and automation when providing high-value cloud
services to the channel. In today’s dynamic market, cloud services
are drastically changing the way customers do business, and
transition and leverage this new IT-as-a-service approach. Hitachi
Cloud Services for Content Archiving, our first services offered
through Arrow, enables customers new flexibility, completely
outsource the management of unstructured data, and offer it in a
pay-as-you-grow subscription designed to meet today’s customers
challenges with managing large scale unstructured data assets."
The ArrowSphere platform enables the channel ecosystem, such as
MSPs, solution providers and independent software vendors, to
seamlessly enter the cloud services business. ArrowSphere allows
partners to resell best-of-breed offerings from leading providers,
furnishing their customers with an online shopping experience and
comprehensive suite of cloud services via their own branded Web
store, without capital investments. ArrowSphere enables the
simplification of business transformation for solution providers
and MSPs with a highly desirable customer experience, automated
provisions and billing.
