ENGLEWOOD, Colo. and
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Aug. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Arrow
Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW), and Fujitsu, a leading global
information communication technology (ICT) company, today announced
an agreement making Arrow the primary distributor of Fujitsu
enterprise products in the United
States. Under the terms of the agreement, Arrow now offers
the complete line of Fujitsu enterprise products ranging from
FUJITSU PRIMERGY® and FUJITSU PRIMEQUEST® x86 servers to ETERNUS®
storage systems. In addition, Arrow and its respective solution
providers will have access to key Fujitsu datacenter solutions,
including converged infrastructure and SAP® HANA®.
"We continue to see strong interest in converged solutions in
the channel, as well as the continued migration toward
industry-standard servers in the enterprise datacenter," said
Howard Goldberg, president of
Arrow's North American enterprise computing solutions segment. "The
addition of Fujitsu furthers Arrow's commitment to provide solution
providers with extensive options for delivering integrated
solutions that make sense for their customers."
Demonstrating its view that converged infrastructure technology
is evolving and gaining traction in the data center, Arrow
formalized its broad converged infrastructure portfolio,
relationships and support in 2013 by establishing a practice
dedicated to that solution set. The market for integrated systems,
which includes single-vendor and multivendor converged
infrastructure and hyper-converged infrastructures, was estimated
to reach $6 billion, growing more
than 50 percent in 2014 over 2013, according to Gartner's "Magic
Quadrant for Integrated Systems" report.
"The rapid consolidation of compute and virtualization resources
in the datacenter creates new solution stacks for customers,
especially around converged infrastructure and software-defined
architectures," said Alex Lam, vice
president of the enterprise business at Fujitsu America, Inc. "Our
agreement with Arrow represents a great synergy of premier Fujitsu
enterprise-grade solutions with Arrow's preeminent channel
distribution and partner capabilities. Through our relationship,
Fujitsu and Arrow will together be able to bring to the channel a
full breadth of end-to-end enterprise solutions – a benefit few can
deliver."
With a longstanding focus on supporting the enterprise
datacenter, Arrow brings the broad technology offerings, deep
expertise and comprehensive support that enable solutions providers
to maximize opportunities in the datacenter convergence and
integrated-systems markets. It offers dedicated resources and a
portfolio of industry-leading technology to assist solution
providers with x86 market opportunities. In addition, it helps
drive x86 architecture into the enterprise server marketplace by
supporting solutions providers with presales engineering services,
demand generation, education and highly specialized integration
services specifically related to converged infrastructure solution
sets through its multidimensional, segment-focused Empower
enablement program.
