CopperCom announced today that Arcadia Telephone Cooperative, based in
Arcadia, Iowa, has selected the CopperCom Converged Switching eXchange
(CSX®) next-generation switch. The purchase of
the CopperCom CSX will allow Arcadia Telephone Cooperative to create
additional revenues and provide the newest technology to its customers.
Arcadia Telephone, an Independent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC) founded
in 1906, offers communications services to residents and businesses in
Arcadia, including local and long-distance voice services, dial-up,
hi-speed and satellite Internet services and Cable Television. The
company also offers satellite Internet and Cable TV services to
neighboring towns and is planning an expansion of voice services to
other locations. Arcadia Telephone is determined to provide its
customers with today’s cutting edge
technologies. The mission of the company is to provide high quality,
reliable service at a fair market price through superior service, years
of experience, and advanced technical training.
“We wanted to offer innovative features which
were not available on the legacy switch, so we decided to look at
several next-gen switching options. One of the reasons we chose to
purchase the CopperCom switch was due to the business relationship that
the Board of Directors and myself developed with sales rep Dale Jones
and vice president Mel Ethem: We knew that we could count on them, and
that they would stand behind their product,”
explained Sheila Griffin, general manager at Arcadia Telephone. “In
addition, the fact that CopperCom offered not only a state-of-the-art
switch, but also next-gen applications and services, made the decision
to choose the CopperCom solution easy.”
“We are proud of our continuing momentum with
the Iowa ILEC companies. Arcadia Telephone joins an innovative group of
telcos making the jump to next-gen technology in order to offer their
subscribers new services and solutions,”
comments Mel Ethem, vice president of sales at CopperCom.
