NEW BRITAIN PALM OIL LIMITED
('NBPOL" or "the Company")
Appointment of New Chairman
New Britain Palm Oil Limited (LSE: NBPO), a large scale integrated industrial
producer of palm oil in Australasia, is delighted to announce the appointment of
Antonio Monteiro de Castro as Chairman of NBPOL with immediate effect. Antonio
will succeed Hj. Ahamad Mohamad who has been Chairman for more than 11 years and
who remains on the Board of NBPOL as non-executive director.
Antonio, from the Admission of NBPOL to the Official List on 17 December 2007,
was appointed deputy chairman and chairman elect of the Company's nomination
committee and served as a member of the audit committee and remuneration
committee. He became Chairman as at 26 February 2009.
Antonio is Non-Executive Chairman of Clean Energy Brazil PLC an AIM listed
company which invests in integrated sugar and ethanol production units in
Brazil, and a director of BlackRock Latin American Investment Trust PLC
(previously called Merrill Lynch Latin American Investment Trust PLC).
Antonio was the Chief Operating Officer of British American Tobacco PLC ('BAT'),
a constituent of the FTSE 100 index, and a director of Reynolds American Inc, a
company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, until his retirement from both
companies in December 2007.
Antonio has an MBA from Babson College in the USA.
Hj. Ahamad Mohamad has been Managing Director of Kulim (Malaysia) Berhad, a
company listed on the Malaysian Stock Exchange since 1991. He is Chief Executive
of the Palm Oils Division of Johor Corporation and holds executive positions on
the board of a number of other Malaysian healthcare, sporting, restaurant
businesses and charitable enterprises. Ahamad graduated as a Bachelor of
Economics (Honours) from the University of Malaysia.
Hj. Ahamad Mohamad, departing Chairman of NBPOL, commented:

delighted that he has agreed to become Chairman."
Antonio Monteiro de Castro, Chairman of NBPOL, commented:
