Appliance Recycling Centers of America (ARCA) Contract with Ameren Missouri Extended Through 2015

MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 8, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Appliance Recycling Centers of America, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARCI) today announced that Ameren Missouri has selected the Company to continue to provide appliance recycling services for the utility's ApplianceSavers Program through 2015. The new ApplianceSavers Program, previously called the Refrigerator Recycling Program, was reinstated as of January 2, 2013.

Through this program, participating Ameren Missouri residential electric customers who turn in operating but energy inefficient refrigerators and freezers, manufactured in 2001 or earlier, will be eligible for a $50.00 rebate. The rebate, which was previously $35.00, applies to each qualifying refrigerator or freezer, with a limit of three (3) refrigerators/freezers per year. In addition, Ameren Missouri will now also offer customers the ability to recycle up to three (3) working window air conditioners and/or dehumidifiers in conjunction with a qualifying refrigerator/freezer. No rebate is provided for window air conditioners or dehumidifiers. ARCA will continue to perform the in-home collection of qualifying appliances and properly recycle the units.
