FRANKFURT (Thomson Financial) - Metro AG.'s Media Markt and Saturn consumer
electronics chains as well as Debitel AG.'s Dug outlets will carry Apple Inc.'s
new iPhone when the handheld device goes on sale in Germany on July 11, Die Welt
newspaper reported, citing sources close to Debitel.
Debitel has an exclusive contract to cell mobile phones at Media Markt and
Saturn, it said.
The German telecommunications company's chief executive Oliver Steil
confirmed the company has come to agreement with Deutsche Telekom AG.'s
T-Mobile, which won the contract to sell the iPhone in Germany, according to an
excerpt of an article to be published in Die Welt tomorrow.
