Apex Systems, an IT staffing and services company, is proud to
announce that Founders Brian Callaghan, Edwin “Win” Sheridan, Jeff
Veatch, and Apex CFO Ted Hanson have joined together to make a
major contribution to support Virginia Tech. The money will support
the newly renamed Apex Systems Center for Innovation and
Entrepreneurship within the Pamplin College of Business.
This contribution mirrors Apex’s strong commitment to building
and supporting innovation and entrepreneurship. Apex was founded on
the concept of providing IT professionals with the connections they
need to advance their professional careers and to help them
continue to build on their experiences through assignments with
great companies. Additionally, programs have been developed to
incubate entrepreneurial and innovative instincts in Apex’s own
workforce and are an important part of the company’s internal
culture. Apex professionals are supported in their efforts to drive
forward their own piece of business, and to chart their own career
path as they mature as business professionals.
“The entrepreneurial spirit on which the company was founded has
remained strong throughout the years, enabling Apex to experience
excellent growth and to help many thousands of professionals find
jobs,” said Hanson, CFO of Apex. “We feel it is important to
provide resources to bring opportunity to others who are driven by
the same spirit.”
“We are proud of what we have accomplished throughout the years
while remaining true to the same strong culture our founders
established,” said Rand Blazer, president of Apex. “We are pleased
to support the Center and our similar commitments to fostering
entrepreneurship and innovation across the country.”
Callaghan, Sheridan and Veatch met as students at Virginia Tech
and founded Apex in Richmond, VA in 1995, a few years after they
graduated. Hanson joined Apex as CFO in 1998. Apex joined On
Assignment in 2012, making the combined company the second largest
IT staffing and services company in the U.S. In 2013, Apex placed
more than 20,000 IT professionals with more than 1,200 clients
across all major industries with a trailing twelve-month revenue of
more than $1 billion.
