LONDON (Thomson Financial) - South Africa's largest mining company, Anglo
American Plc. said it has completed the sale of its Namakwa Sands mineral sands
operation to Exxaro Resources Ltd. for two billion rand.
The company said it has also completed the sale of its Black Mountain zinc,
lead and copper operation and its Gamsberg zinc project to Black Mountain Mining
Ltd. for about 180 million rand, a unit of Anglo American in which Exxaro is
unconditionally obliged to acquire a 26 percent interest for about 180 million
rand.
