LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Aminex PLC said it has been granted a six-month
extension to the current phase of its Nyuni/East Songo-Songo exploration licence
offshore Tanzania following delays to the drill rig.
Aminex said in June that drilling at Nyuni would be delayed due to problems
with the mechanical equipment on the rig, and the the Tanzanian Minister of
Energy and Mines has now granted a formal extension of the group's commitment
period to May 19 2008.
Chairman Brian Hall commented: "Subject to unforeseen circumstances, we plan
to have completed this drilling programme well within the six month extension
period."
