Company also pledges $1.4 million in grants to help strengthen local communities

On June 16, nearly 4,000 Ameriprise Financial, Inc. (NYSE: AMP) employees, advisors and clients will come together to provide food for people in need. Working at more than 200 hunger-relief events across the country, the volunteers will package and prepare meals to help the 1 in 8 Americans who struggle with hunger. The events are the first of two nationwide service days Ameriprise organizes in partnership with Feeding America® each year, reflecting the company’s ongoing commitment to help ensure hungry families and individuals have access to food.

“Hunger has no boundaries. Working families, senior citizens, children and individuals in both rural and urban areas can quickly find themselves at risk of hunger,” said Brian Pietsch, head of community relations at Ameriprise. “The summer can be especially challenging for children who rely on school meal programs throughout the year. Our nationwide volunteer effort will bring together thousands of people to help fill the gap so many families face during the summer months.”
