Datatel®, Inc. today
announced that American Samoa Community College (ASCC) has selected
Datatel Colleague and Datatel ActiveCampus Portal software solutions to
build a comprehensive administrative system and enhance services to
students, staff, and faculty. The newly acquired Datatel technology and
professional services will replace a legacy system used by the
institution.
ASCC, which joins the University of Guam as Datatel’s
second Asia-Pacific client, will integrate Datatel ActiveCampus Portal,
a powerful Web-based enterprise work environment and collaboration
system, with Colleague to provide better communications among the College’s
varied constituents. The Portal will also support e-commerce, enabling
tuition payments around the clock.

ASCC is a two-year institution located just outside Pago Pago, American
Samoa’s capital. The institution was
established in 1970 and is accredited by the Western Association of
Schools and Colleges and the Accrediting Commission of Community and
Junior Colleges. ASCC has approximately 1,500 students who concentrate
in areas of liberal arts, teacher training, vocational-technical
education, and general education.
