Amedisys Honors 18 with Annual Spirit of Excellence Awards

Amedisys, Inc., one of the nation’s leading home health, hospice
and personal care companies in the nation, recognized 18 employees
with the prestigious Spirit of Excellence Awards, one of the
company’s highest honor.
“Providing personalized, compassionate healthcare to our
patients in their homes is the heart of our mission at Amedisys,”
stated Susan Sender, Chief Clinical Officer. “Working in this
business requires a special kind of person, and these extraordinary
individuals represent the very best of what makes Amedisys
successful and meaningful for our patients and families. I’m proud

Each year, Amedisys honors Nurses of the Year, Director of
Office Operations of the Year, Aides of the Year, Therapists of the
Year, Clinical Manager of the Year, Patient Support Service
Professional of the Year, Hospice Volunteers of the Year, and an
Overall Spirit Award. From more than 17,000 employees nationwide
and hundreds of nominations, 18 winners were named.
Winners demonstrate clinical excellence with patients,
positively influence patients and their families, remain committed
to the precepts of patient-centered care, achieve at a level above
and beyond typical duties and promote patient independence.
Amedisys also recognizes a Corporate Support Professional of the
Year who demonstrates exceptional support to the field, contributes
to Amedisys’ four areas of strategic focus and exhibits the
Amedisys core beliefs.

Greeneville, Tenn. and Cindy Matthiesen of Grove, Okla.
- Aide of the Year: Mia Edwards of Chattanooga,
Tenn.; Elizabeth Dubois of Auburn, Maine; Tracy Trammell of
Dayton, Tenn. and Valerie Wright of Greenville, S.C.
- Patient Support Professional of the Year:
Rhonda Keefe of Sumter, S.C.
- Clinical Manager of the Year: Beth Akers of
Bluefield, W.V.
- Hospice Volunteer of the Year: Judy Hinds of
Portsmouth, N.H. and Gary Chickerell of Morgantown, W.V.
- Overall Spirit Award Winner: Candi Davis of
Springfield, Mo.
- Corporate Professional of the Year: Michelle
Ruff, Regional Director of Financial Operations
