Corporation (NYSE: ALL) announced that Gregg M. Sherrill, 64, executive chairman of
Tenneco Inc., has been elected to Allstate's board of directors,
effective October 1. As of that date,
the Allstate board will stand at 11 directors.
"Gregg's successful experience as chairman and CEO of Tenneco
further strengthens the strategic and operational expertise on

two decades of his business career at Ford Motor Co. Sherrill
received an MBA from Indiana University
Graduate School of Business and a bachelor's degree in mechanical
engineering from Texas A&M
University.
