NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Alaska Air Group Inc. Monday said April load
factor at its Alaska Airlines subsidiary was flat at 76.9%, while the load
factor for its Horizon Air subsidiary fell to 69.2%.
Traffic for Alaska Airlines rose 3.4% to 1.57 billion revenue passenger
miles (RPM) while capacity rose 3.4% to 2.04 billion available seat miles (ASM).
In April 2007, the company posted traffic of 1.52 billion RPM on capacity of
1.97 ASM. The load factor was 76.9% in April 2007.
Horizon Air posted April traffic of 212.3 million RPM, down 6.9%, while
capacity was 306.9 million ASM, down 3.8%.
In the year-ago period, Horizon Air had a load factor of 71.5%, with traffic
of 228.1 million RPM and capacity of 319 million ASM.
Shares of Alaska Air Group closed Friday at $21.84. The stock is down about
27% over the past 52 weeks.
