Appointment of Non-executive Director
Akers Biosciences, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKER) (AIM: AKR.L), (the
"Company"), a medical device company focused on reducing the cost
of healthcare through faster, easier diagnostics, announced on June
5, 2015 that Robert E. "Rob" Andrews would be appointed as a
Non-executive Director of the Company subject to his election at
the Annual General Meeting ("AGM") originally scheduled for June
25, 2015. In light of the adjournment of the AGM to August 3, 2015
as announced on June 25, 2015 (the "Adjourned AGM"), the Board of
Directors, in accordance with the Company's by-laws, has decided to
proceed with the appointment of Mr. Andrews without delay.
Accordingly, the Company is delighted to welcome Mr. Andrews as a
Non-executive Director of the Company with immediate effect. Mr.
Andrews will still appear on the Company's ballot for election at
the Adjourned AGM.
In addition, Mr. Andrews was appointed to the Company's
Governance and Nominating Committee, Compensation Committee and
Audit Committee; and will serve as the Chairman of the Company's
Compensation Committee.
All disclosures required to be made in accordance with Rule 17,
Schedule Two (g) of the AIM Rules for Companies in respect of the
appointment of Mr. Andrews were contained in the announcement of
June 5, 2015.
