Airbus Groups SE said one of its military transport planes
crashed on Friday, killing 11 people on board.
The Colombian Air Force, which operated the CN235
turboprop-powered plane, said there were no survivors, according to
Airbus. The plane went down in Las Palomas, Colombia, for
undetermined reasons.
The transport plane was built in 1998, the European planemaker
said.
The CN235, used typically to ferry troops and cargo, is built in
Seville, Spain, along with the larger C295 and the even larger
A400M airlifter. The first A400M crashed in May killing four of six
company employees on board. Flights and deliveries of the A400M
plane were temporarily suspended after the crash, but have since
resumed.
