PARIS-- French industrial gas supplier Air Liquide SA (AI.FR)
Friday confirmed it expects profit growth this year after sales
during the third quarter rose 1%, lifted by rising demand in Asia
and the Americas.
Air Liquide said its sales during the period rose 1% to 3.80
billion euros ($4.82 billion). Excluding the effects of currency
fluctuations and asset sales and acquisitions, sales rose 4.3%, the
company said.
Sales rose 12% in Asia and 6.3% in the Americas, though demand
in Europe continued to fall.
Air Liquide's healthiest business line is the supply to
electronics manufacturers, as the demand for sophisticated gases by
semiconductor and solar panel producers rose during the
quarter.
