DENVER, April 20, 2017
/PRNewswire/ -- For the fifth consecutive year, Apartment
Investment and Management Company (Aimco) has earned the
distinction of being a Denver Post
Top Workplace in Colorado. Aimco has earned this
designation each year it has participated in the program and is one
of only three mid-sized companies to achieve the honor five times
in a row.
Aimco's Top Workplace designation was based on results of
a third-party, confidential survey of Aimco team members who
evaluated the company in areas including workplace culture,
leadership, and potential for growth and advancement.
"At Aimco, we place a great emphasis on fostering a workplace
culture that gives our team members the opportunity, autonomy and
support to build successful careers," said Aimco Chairman and CEO
Terry Considine. "Top
Workplace status for the fifth straight year is a third-party
endorsement of our Aimco teammates who have created a rich culture
emphasizing collaboration and caring, respect and results. Their
commitment produces great outcomes for customers and shareholders…
and also makes Aimco a great place to work."
Aimco's culture is distinguished by five defining pillars: We
live with gusto; we own it; we value relationships; we create
moments that matter; and we drive innovation and change. Aimco
actively promotes professional growth, career advancement and
leadership development, filling more than two-thirds of its open
management positions with internal candidates.
Through its philanthropic program Aimco Cares, Aimco gives each
team member 15 paid hours to be applied toward volunteer service in
communities, resulting in thousands of hours assisting local
nonprofits. Aimco Cares also supports members of the Aimco
team by offering scholarship programs for the children of team
members, and providing short-term financial assistance to employees
in crisis, through the Aimco Cares 4U initiative.
With the help of its business partners nationwide, Aimco Cares
has raised more than $4 million in
gross proceeds from its annual charity golf tournament to benefit
military support organizations - the Tragedy Assistance Program for
Survivors (TAPS) and Project Sanctuary - and to fund scholarships
for students living in affordable housing across the country.
Tournament proceeds also provide grants to local nonprofits chosen
by Aimco teammates.
Aimco is a real estate investment trust that is focused on the
ownership and management of quality apartment communities located
in the largest markets in the United
States. Aimco is one of the country's largest owners and
operators of apartments with 189 communities in 22 states and the
District of Columbia. Aimco common
shares are traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker
symbol AIV, and are included in the S&P 500. For more
