Dutch retailer Koninklijke Ahold N.V. (AH.AE) said Thursday Chairman Jan Hommen will resume his role with immediate effect and chair the annual shareholder meeting on April 15, after temporarily stepping down last June.

Mr. Hommen stepped down as chairman of the board on June 14, 2014, following his nomination and subsequent election as KPMG chief executive. However, he remained a member of Ahold's supervisory board.

Rob van den Bergh, who replaced Jan Hommen as interim chairman, will remain on the supervisory board as chairman of the remuneration committee and a member of the selection and appointment committee, Ahold said.
