NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Agrium Inc. Monday said it would offer up to
$1.25 billion worth of common stock, effective immediately.
The Canadian supplier of agricultural products listed RBC Capital Markets as
lead manager and bookrunner in the offering, and granted underwriters an option
to buy an additional $125 million to cover any over-allotment.
Agrium said it would use the proceeds from the offering to partially fund a
previously-announced tender offer for all the outstanding shares of UAP Holding
Corp.
Shares of Agrium closed Friday at $63.49.
