Presidential Challenge for Advanced Outdoor Lighting.” The webinar
is designed to help public sector organizations learn more about
what it takes to get involved in the Presidential Challenge for
Outdoor Lighting program, which was announced by the White House in
January during the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
The Presidential Challenge webinar will define and introduce
technologies that constitute the next generation of ‘advanced
outdoor lighting.’ It will also describe how the Presidential
Challenge program represents an important tangible step toward the
creation of Smart Cities. Administered through the U.S. Department
of Energy (DOE) Better Buildings program, the Presidential
Challenge for Advanced Outdoor Lighting program has set a goal of
upgrading 1.5 million streetlights nationwide to high-efficiency
LEDs.
