SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - Acme Packet Inc. after Tuesday's closing
bell reported adjusted third-quarter earnings of $6.69 million, or 10 cents a
share, topping the mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial of 9
cents.
During the year earlier, adjusted earnings were $7.07 million, or 13 cents a
share, said the Burlington, Mass.-based provider of session border controller
products and services.
The company posted net earnings of $5.5 million, or 8 cents a share, down
from $6.81 million, or 12 cents a share, last year.
Total revenue came in at $29.6 million, ahead of the consensus estimate of
$29.3 million. Last year, revenue was $22.3 million.
Additionally, Acme Packet said it expects fourth-quarter adjusted per-share
earnings of 9 cents to 10 cents on revenue of $30.5 million to $32 million.
The company also raised its full-year 2007 outlook, saying it now expects
adjusted per-share earnings of 35 cents to 36 cents on revenue of $112 million
to $113.5 million. The prior forecast was for adjusted earnings of 28 cents to
30 cents a share on revenue of $108 million to $112 million.
Shares of Acme Packet closed out the regular session up 98 cents, or almost
8%, at $13.41.
