                      Change in Accounting Reference Date


Zi Medical plc announces that it is to change the accounting reference date of
the Company from 31 December to 31 May. This is an administrative change which
the directors believe will be beneficial to the Company, making the Company's
accounting reference date consistent with the annual budgeting process of
several of Zi Medical's key customers.


This change will take effect for the current financial year so that the
Company's next Annual Accounts will be made up for the period ending 31 May
2007. A second set of interims for the twelve months to 31 December 2006 will be
released during March 2007.
