SAN FRANCISCO (Thomson Financial) - Accentia Biopharmaceuticals Inc. late
Friday said it plans to report positive Phase III clinical results on three of
its therapeutics in the first half of 2008, which is expected to accelerate U.S.
and European regulatory approvals. The three are BiovaxID, a personalized
anti-cancer vaccine initially targeting non-Hodgkin's lymphoma; Revimmune, a
treatment for up to 80 autoimmune diseases, with an initial indication of
multiple sclerosis; and SinuNase, a treatment for chronic sinusitis.
The Tampa, Fla.-based company also said that Todd Thomason has resigned from
the board, in connection with his decision to take a job with company in the
health-care industry.
In addition, Accentia said it has filed its annual report for the fiscal
year ended Sept. 30, 2007, with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The company's stock closed the regular session up 23 cents, or almost 8%, at
$3.14.
