NEW YORK (Thomson Financial) - Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. reported a
third-quarter net loss of $16 million, or 43 cents a share, wider than the $11.3
million, or 38 cents a share, it lost in the same period a year ago.
The mean estimate of analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial was for a loss
of 38 cents a share.
Revenue for the quarter ending Sept. 30 rose to $2 million from $1.9 million
a year ago, compared with analyst forecasts of $2.4 million.
Research and development expenses increased to $16.9 million from last
year's $15.5 million, primarily because of increased costs associated with
ongoing trials in the company's advanced clinical trials.
The San Diego-based biopharmaceutical company closed Monday's regular
session at $15.
