NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Acacia Research Corp., which develops and
acquires patented technologies, said Tuesday it reached a settlement with Kohl's
Department Stores Inc. related to a patent for credit card fraud protection
technology.
Acacia did not disclose financial terms of the settlement.
The technology covers a computerized system for protecting retailers and
consumers during credit and debit card transactions, Acacia said.
