NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (AP) - Acacia Research Corp., which develops, acquires
and licenses patented technologies, said Tuesday it settled a patent dispute
with Tokyo-based software company Trend Micro Inc.
Terms were not disclosed.
Acacia's Disc Link Corp. unit had filed a lawsuit against Trend Micro in the
U.S. district court for the Eastern District of Texas related to portable
storage devices and links.
The lawsuit filed in April 2007 includes several other companies such as
Compuware Corp., UGS Corp. and EMC Corp., according to a filing with the
Securities and Exchange Commission.
