SCHAUMBURG, Ill (Thomson Financial) - US biotechnology company Abraxis
BioScience Inc said it received US Food and Drug Administration approval for a
generic version of Bayer AG's chemotherapy injection Fludara.
The drug, based on the active compound fludarabine phosphate, was cleared
for treating a chronic form of leukemia in adults, Abraxis said in a statement.
The biotech company said it also got approval for another version of the
fludarabine phosphate injection, the equivalent of a drug distributed by Teva
Pharmaceutical Industries Inc of Israel.
