BOSTON (Thomson Financial) - AVX Corp. Thursday reported second-quarter
adjusted earnings of $39.3 million, or 23 cents a share, up slightly from $38.8
million, or 22 cents a share, a year ago.
The mean estimate of analysts polled by Thomson Financial was for 24 cents a
share.
The Myrtle Beach, S.C.-based electronic component manufacturer said revenue
rose 7% at $400.7 million from a year ago. Analysts had been expecting revenue
of $390.3 million.
The stock closed Wednesday at $16.17.
